No access to the hall: how maintenance works at McLaut
Only McLaut staff enter the server room. Here is why that is safer and how you still get to work on your server.

In large data centers clients walk to their racks themselves. Not here. It is a deliberate choice, and this is how it works in practice.
What we do
- Installation, cabling, disk and cable replacement, reboots.
- Photo and video documentation of work on request.
- IP-KVM connection when you need console access.
When the server itself needs work
We remove the server from the rack and hand it over at the McLaut service centre. There you or your engineer work on it in calm conditions, after which we put it back and reconnect it. Downtime is minimal and nobody from outside enters the hall.
Why it is safer
Every person in a server room is a risk: a snagged cable, an open door, a careless move next to someone else’s equipment. When only two or three engineers who know every server enter the hall, those risks simply do not exist.
